IPB University gave the Public Information Disclosure Award to faculties/schools as the Implementing Public Information Management Officer (PPID). The award is based on the results of Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of Internal Public Information Disclosure for PPID Implementers of IPB in 2025.
From the results of the M&E, 10 faculties/schools achieved informative qualifications, while four others were in the category towards informative. The award was given in the event “Workshop on Public Information Disclosure for PPID Implementers” at Andi Hakim Nasution Auditorium, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (7/17).
Rector of IPB University in his speech emphasized the importance of transparency and information disclosure for public institutions. “As an institution financed by public funds, IPB University must be able to manage information wisely. There is information that needs to be disclosed and some that must be kept confidential,” said Prof Arif.
He also highlighted the experience during the COVID-19 pandemic which led to many information disputes. “When the public wants to know who is infected, there are legal restrictions related to patient confidentiality. This is where the importance of public institutions consulting with KIP to maintain a balance between public rights and privacy protection,” he explained.
On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also signed between IPB University and the Central Information Commission (KIP). The MoU was signed directly by the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria and the Chairman of KIP, Dr Donny Yoesgiantoro.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of KIP, Dr Donny Yoesgiantoro, welcomed this cooperation. He hopes that the world of education will actively participate in encouraging information disclosure. “Do not consider information disclosure as an obligation, but make it a necessity,” he said.
The workshop was even more interesting when it presented a renowned resource person, Fardila Astari, a practitioner and communication strategy expert. The winner of the MAW Talk version of the Influential Public Relations figure in 2024 reviewed crisis communication management strategies.
Also present was Siti Ajijah, KIP Expert, who delivered material on the role of PPID in ensuring access to public information. The enthusiasm of the participants was high, especially during the question and answer session.
