A journey full of struggle was demonstrated by the couple, Yusep Suwandi and Mimik, as they took their child to take the Computer Based Written Exam-National Selection Based on Tests (UTBK-SNBT) at IPB University, Dramaga Campus, Bogor (4/23). This story serves as a true reflection of the spirit of parents in supporting their children’s education all the way through higher education.
Yusep Suwandi, a chicken noodle vendor from Jasinga Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, revealed that he and his wife had prepared for the trip the day before to ensure their child could take the UTBK on time.
He said they left Jasinga in the afternoon and stayed overnight at a relative’s house to be closer to the exam location.
“My daily job is selling chicken noodle soup. Since yesterday afternoon, we’ve been traveling by public minibus to Cibeureum Village, Dramaga Subdistrict, to stay overnight at a relative’s house. Then, right after dawn, we immediately took our child to the exam site because they had the morning session,” said Yusep.
He also added that the child he was taking is his third child, who aspires to continue his education at a university. This is a source of pride for their family. Yusep hopes his child will achieve the best results and be accepted into his dream university.
He and his wife continue to provide their full support, both emotionally and through their dedication of time and effort. His wife, Mimik, also expressed her hope that their efforts would inspire their child to study even harder.
In her statement, Mimik also hoped that her child would not squander this opportunity. She wants her child to achieve a better life in the future and bring pride to the family. (dr) (IAAS/SSR)
