Agrianita IPB University organized the 2025 Grand Tabligh featuring Ustaz Adi Hidayat, a national preacher known as a scholar with extensive knowledge of tafsir and hadith. Since early morning, thousands of congregants from various majelis taklim and community groups filled the Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW) hall at the IPB Dramaga Campus in Bogor (12/7).

The Acting Executive (Plh) Rector of IPB University, Prof Ernan Rustiadi, expressed his gratitude for the event in his speech. “Praise and thanks be to Allah SWT for the blessings given so that we can gather here this morning,” he said.

Prof Ernan explained that Ustaz Adi Hidayat is not only a preacher but also an activist with significant contributions to the food security movement. In the national context, he emphasized IPB University’s readiness to contribute to the government’s three priority agendas, namely food, energy, and water. He stated that IPB University is ready to collaborate.

“IPB University, as an agricultural university, is ready to collaborate, Mr Ustaz,” he said. He also reiterated IPB University’s achievement of still ranking first in Southeast Asia in the field of agriculture and forestry according to the QS World University Ranking.

Prof Ernan also appreciated Ustaz Adi’s concern in directly helping the people of Sumatra affected by the disaster. “IPB has also sent a Quick Response team to work together with a number of universities,” he said.

He gave an example of the ‘Gerakan Marandang Basamo’ activity, which involved cooking one ton of rendang donated by Minang families and packaging it using IPB University technology. The rendang was prepared for distribution to disaster locations and has a shelf life of up to several months.

On that occasion, Ustaz Adi Hidayat delivered a sermon on the theme of True Happiness. He expressed his closeness to IPB University, including his experience of finding traces of IPB University’s activities in various mosques around the world.

“I think it’s extraordinary. IPB University should be number one in the world in mosque activities,” he said.

In his lecture, Ustaz Adi also shared his views on family, women, values that uphold the dignity of husbands and wives, and other spiritual messages that inspired the congregation. (dr) (IAAS/LAN)
