The IPB Excellence Challenge (IEC) 2026 series officially concluded with a lively Awarding and Closing Ceremony held at Grha Widya Wisuda, Dramaga Campus (6/7). This event served as the culmination of recognition for students who demonstrated achievement, leadership, creativity, and a spirit of collaboration throughout the IEC 2026 program.
The IPB Excellence Challenge is a competition and student achievement development program designed to foster the emergence of a superior, principled, and competitive generation. Through various competition stages and challenges, participants are encouraged to develop critical thinking, communication, problem solving, teamwork, and leadership skills as preparation for future challenges.
There are three main categories in the IEC 2026 competition, namely:
- The Analysis Category, which includes the Analytical Critical Case, Business Case Competition, and Business Plan Competition;
- The Works Category, which includes the Scientific Writing Competition, Essay Competition, Student Innovation Competition, Creative Video, Innovation Poster, and Scientific Paper Poster; and
- The Battle Category, which includes the Indonesian Language Debate, English Language Debate, Quiz Competition, and Grand Champion.
In his opening remarks, IPB University Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet expressed his appreciation to all participants, organizers, mentors, and parties who contributed to the success of IEC 2026. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a spirit of healthy competition, cross-faculty collaboration, and the courage of students to continue growing and excelling.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the winners and top award recipients. In the individual category, Zidan Pranandya N from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FTT) won first place in the IPB Excellence Challenge 2026 after passing through various rigorous evaluation stages.
Meanwhile, in the team category, the IPB University Vocational School once again secured the title of Overall Champion of the IEC 2026, having previously also claimed the Overall Champion title at the 2025 Faculty War. This achievement was attained through the acquisition of two gold medals, three silver medals, and two bronze medals. In full, the top five positions, in order, were the Vocational School, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Social and Human Ecology, the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and the School of Business.
The atmosphere grew even more lively with various artistic performances showcasing the creativity and talent of IPB University students, including the Lumen Band, the Warphoria Modern Dance Group, a Vocal Duet, Traditional Dance by OMDA IPMM, the Chetall Drama, and the Celestial Band.
The Director of Student Affairs at IPB University, Dr Akhmad Arifin Hadi, stated that more than just a competition, IEC 2026 serves as a platform for learning, collaboration, and character development for IPB University students.
“Congratulations to all the winners and participants who took part. We hope that the students’ spirit of excellence will continue to grow and serve as a foundation for making tangible contributions to society, the nation, and the world,” he said. (IAAS/LAN)
