IPB University hosted the 2026 Centralized Selection for the Higher Education Affirmative Action Scholarship Program (ADik), attended by 132 university leaders and administrators from across Indonesia. The event took place at the Bigland Hotel in Bogor (6/8–10).

In his opening remarks, IPB University’s Rector, namely Dr Alim Setiawan, expressed his appreciation to the Center for Higher Education Financing and Assessment (PPAPT) for the trust placed in IPB University as a partner in organizing the ADik Scholarship centralized selection.

According to him, the ADik Scholarship program is a manifestation of the state’s commitment to providing access to higher education for the nation’s best and brightest youth, particularly those from underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions, Papua, and communities in need of educational affirmative action.

“This program brings together all stakeholders with a shared spirit, namely the spirit of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Through ADik, we aim to provide opportunities to all the nation’s children, especially those from 3T regions and areas in dire need of access to higher education,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of PPAPT, Dr Sandro Mihardi, expressed his gratitude to all universities that have contributed to the management and implementation of the affirmative action scholarship program.

He emphasized that the ADik program is mandated by law to ensure access to higher education for Indonesian citizens, particularly those from low-income families, 3T regions, people with disabilities, and repatriates.

He noted that currently, the number of active student beneficiaries of various higher education assistance programs stands at approximately 1.047.000. Specifically for the ADik program, the number of beneficiaries stands at approximately 10.000 students, with the 2026 quota planned at around 2.000 people.

On that occasion, Dr Sandro also outlined plans for a comprehensive evaluation of the ADik program’s implementation. The evaluation will cover scholarship recipients’ graduation rates, average duration of study, and program outcomes based on the beneficiaries’ regions of origin.

“The results of this evaluation are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating policies and developing future higher education affirmative action programs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Septien Prima Diassari, SKom, MSi, a member of the KIP Kuliah and ADik Working Group, explained in her report that the 2026 higher education affirmative action selection is a crucial step to ensure equitable access to higher education for the best students from designated regions.

She reported that this year’s centralized selection process was attended by 132 leaders and administrators from ADik-participating higher education institutions, comprising 114 public universities and several private universities.

The number of applicants for the 2026 ADik program reached 6.040 students. Of that number, 5.764 participants passed the verification and validation process.

The distribution of applicants consists of 4.518 participants from the Papua region, 854 graduates of the Secondary Education Affirmative Action Program, 278 participants from 3T special regions, and 185 repatriated participants.

Additionally, out of the total applicants who have participated in the national college entrance selection, 495 participants have been declared eligible. Specifically, 151 participants passed the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) and have been designated as ADik recipients, 97 participants passed the SNBP but are still awaiting final approval, and 247 participants passed through the National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) pathway.

Through this centralized selection process, the government and the participating universities are expected to ensure that the process of determining ADik Scholarship recipients is transparent and targeted, so that more young people from affirmative action regions have the opportunity to pursue higher education.
