During the “Live Bestie EP 03-2026” event, broadcast live on the Instagram platform @ipbofficial and IPB TV YouTube channel (4/1), IPB University thoroughly discussed the application strategy for the 2026 National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) track.

With a quota of 30 percent or approximately 2.481 seats of the total capacity, this pathway presents a golden opportunity for high school graduates from the past three years.

Dr Utami Dyah Syafitri, Director of Educational Administration and New Student Admissions at IPB University, emphasized that the SNBT selection is purely based on Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK) scores. There is no rigid minimum score requirement, as admission depends heavily on the competitiveness of the academic program and the available quota.

“The SNBT selection is truly based solely on scores. As long as a candidate meets the cut-off score, they will be admitted. The main limitation is the quota, so it is important for prospective students to check the capacity of each program through the official admissions website at admisi.ipb.ac.id,” said Dr Utami.

This year, IPB University offers a selection of 61 programs, comprising 44 undergraduate (S1) programs and 17 applied undergraduate (D4) programs. Among the 44 S1 programs, there are several relatively new programs that can be selected in the SNBT, such as Smart Agriculture, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.

Dr Utami also highlighted the new policy regarding program selection across academic levels. Applicants may select up to four program options, provided they include an applied bachelor’s degree or diploma program. “We need to change the perception of applied bachelor’s degrees. An applied bachelor’s degree (D4) is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (S1). Don’t hesitate to pursue a D4 degree, as IPB University D4 graduates have been widely accepted in the workforce, even internationally,” she added.

The UTBK at IPB University will be held from April 21 to 30, 2026, at two main locations: the Dramaga Campus and the Vocational School Campus in Cilibende, Bogor. Dr Utami reminded participants to print their admission cards and conduct a site visit on April 15–17, 2026, to avoid going to the wrong exam location.

In closing, she offered words of encouragement to SNBT candidates. “For those who weren’t successful through the SNBP pathway, good luck on the SNBT. Thorough preparation and your parents’ prayers are the keys. We’re waiting for you at IPB University,” she concluded.

For prospective students seeking further information regarding enrollment capacity and technical procedures, IPB University provides access via the websites admisi.ipb.ac.id and utbk.ipb.ac.id. (MW) (IAAS/LAN)
