Five students of the Vocational School of IPB University have developed a startup business in the field of sustainable food processing. The business, named Tastara Agridaya, was born from the entrepreneurial spirit of young people to address current food challenges through practical, impactful, and sustainable solutions.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tastara Agridaya, Ghibran Alifa, said that the first product currently being developed is NoriCo. It is a ready to use seasoning that carries an upcycling concept by utilizing dried coconut dregs as its main ingredient.

“We try to make use of coconut dregs by giving them economic value. NoriCo is a ready to use seasoning, similar to shredded meat floss, made with nori, sesame seeds, and other selected ingredients. The product is durable, hygienic, and rich in Indonesian flavors,” Ghibran said.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PT Tastara Agridaya, Lukmanul Hakim, explained that NoriCo comes in a 25-gram bottle package. Currently, four variants are available to satisfy consumers’ tastes and enhance their appetite: original, original anchovy, spicy original, and spicy anchovy.

Moreover, he added that another advantage of NoriCo is its affordable price. While competing products on the market are generally sold at around IDR15.000 to IDR18.000, NoriCo is priced starting from IDR12.000. This strategy has successfully enabled NoriCo to survive and compete in the market.

Sales of NoriCo increased by 133,3% from October to November 2025 and by 42% from November to 6 December 2025. The total increase in demand from October to  December 6th 2025 reached 233,3%, equivalent to 400 bottles across all variants.

NoriCo has been marketed through various efforts, ranging from direct sales on campus and participation in exhibitions such as the IPB Job Fair to expanding into digital platforms. In the future, the team plans to strengthen its branding through educational content on social media as part of its digital marketing strategy.

The success of Tastara Agridaya cannot be separated from the support of the Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Relations of IPB University through the Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW). The program provides numerous benefits, ranging from funding and business planning knowledge to monitoring and consultation facilities. (MHT) (IAAS/PRP)
