Ahaetulla prasina
Shaw, 1802
Oriental whip-snake
This snake is known for its slender, elongated body and bright green coloration, which helps it blend seamlessly among the foliage. Active during the day (diurnal), Ahaetulla prasina hunts a variety of prey, including small birds, frogs, geckos, chameleons, and other lizards. Although it possesses mild venom, it is harmless to humans and mainly functions to subdue small prey. This species is commonly found in trees, shrubs, and gardens across tropical regions of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. (IAAS/TIR)
